The Durango Blotter...

Colorado Rocky Mountain
"highs..."

Found out that "Rants and Raves" has a journalistic cousin in the Durango Herald (Colo.) newspaper
 called "The Blotter" excerpts:

8:46 a.m. - A man was hit in the head with a rock and was unable to walk out of Horse Gulch.
10:53 a.m. - Someone had an animal hide staked to the grass near Brookside Park.
2:37 p.m. - Someone driving a pickup with out-of-state plates had no right front tire and was causing sparks on the frontage road near Bodo Industrial Park.  He was arrested for drunken driving.
4:32 p.m. - A man who looked about 35 was carrying a 3-foot long sabre in the 1900 block of East Third Avenue near the library.
8:30 p.m. - A brush fire was reported near the Cascade Creek trailhead in the 5100 block of Hwy 550, north of Purgatory....

Staked out animal hides? 3-foot long sabre?
Well, let's just hope "the fire" doesn't reach Purgatory...
