Speakin' Southern...

Hot stuff from one of our rural newspeppers:

How to talk good when you're down heh...

                        Word              Meaning

                   "Fixinto":       Preparing to act.
                   "Jeetyet":      Been to lunch?
                    "Ya'll":          "You"... singular.

                    "All ya'll":     "You"... plural.
                    "Honey":        First name of "visitors" at
                                         The Waffle House.
                    "Sugar":         First name of "locals"
                                         at The Waffle House.
                    "Jawlp?":       Question to young kids
                                         before leaving the house.
                    "Hissy fit":     NCUA Chairman's response to ...

... a polite request from Congress [see here] for the NCUA to be more reasonable and transparent in its budget process.

Ya'll reckon they've growed "too robust" for their britches? And can't git their tee on over their noggin any longer?

Ya'll come see us when you can, alrighty?

Several folks "not from around here" have said they don't get '"jawlp".... it's two words.

Yeah, I had to think about "jawlp" -- but it is a perfect question to ask children before getting buckled up in the car...
