Ottawa Ought-a-go....

Just a short drive from Montreal, up the Ottawa River, is Canada's capital. Ottawa, much like Washington, D.C.  has that "seat of government" feel, in sharp contrast to the old world, cosmopolitan flair of Montreal. The old vs. the new!

Ottawa is a place where "the sausage of compromise" - the contest between opposing forces and views  - gets made by the Canucks! The place where tough choices are discussed and real decisions are made!

Open, transparent dialogue, between the people - democracy at its best.

Credit Unions have had two strong, prominent trade associations in the past - not so in the future.

Just one trade? Yep, and would bet heavily that the survivor will be the one which acts [and NAFCU already has] most boldly at the expense of the one which...

... ducks!

YOUR CHOICE:  HEADS OR "TAILS"?
What do you think CUNA will do - "turn tail"?

[This coincidence is definitely coming "to a head";
probably later today...]

League, Nafcu, Cuna dues paid per year times (pick the number of years, your "choice"!)= the amount of dollars spent.
Your "choice" as to the number of years it was worth what your cu paid (not counting all the boondoggle conferences!).
The years the dues weren't worth it times the dues paid= the dollars available to help members thru tough times NOT AVAILABLE.
Dollars wasted on a congress that shows no love= COUNTLESS.
Definition of insanity?

A view from the sidelines: Lots of rhetoric. Many threats. Tons of suggestions. Hundreds of complaints. Talk is cheap. Now a choice can be made. Will all those who have voiced dissatisfaction actually do something? Do they have the gumption to say enough is enough? Will they say bye bye, we are going elsewhere? Or will they quietly do nothing, continue to pay their dues and allow themselves to be treated like Victorian children? Will anyone lead the way? The whole world is watching.

Show me the salaries paid to Board / Presidents / Etc. and then we all can have an intellegent discussion of our "bang for the buck". I personally don't think NAFCU is any better at politics than the CUNA and it's affeliated Leagues. Somehow 100+/- million members should have a stonger impact in DC and States than they currently have... wich is to say - not much! I'm still looking to see if there's a door #3.
