None Of Your Business...

Oh no! Not another book
on "managing change"... !
Y'know, folks who really don't know me well will, quite often, send me a book or something else to read.  "Something else to read" is definitely - for sure - not on my "bucket list" in life.

But even worse, "the reading stuff" that folks send me, who know me well and who are not - shall we say - "my greatest admirers",  are always the latest, thin and fluffy, "7 Step" guru-guides to leadership and management.  I'd rather change innumerable bad diapers than read one more "b-book" in life - particularly since the content and immediate impact ("two fingers down the throat") are usually very similar.

Which brings me to Dan Berger and Anthony
D.C. Bookmakers!
Demangone, the leadership brain-trust over at NAFCU, who dropped by the other day to visit and to bring me "something else to read". You guessed it ! The reading material was a leadership and management book!!!!

One which they had written...  !!!!
The title of the book is:

"Managing and Leading Well - It Ain't Rocket Science, But It's Still Hard Work!"

Harvard via FSU?
No way... !!
If you feel you must read at least one management/leadership book in life, then Dan and Anthony's 140-page tome might be the right choice for you. The book gives a good, precise overview of all the major business "philosophers" - Covey, Collins, Demings, Gladwell, Drucker, and Aretha Franklin(!) - organized around 11 very readable chapters on leadership principles - Change, Vision, Trust, Accountability, Teamwork, Attitude, etc.

The best-known, key ideas - "BHAGs", "Eat That Frog", G.R.O.W., MaxQ, S.M.A.R.T. - are all summarized in layman's terms; and, the book is well-organized, efficient, and "sits well on the page". The messages are simple, understandable, highly digestible - well worth a look.

But for credit union folks, why this might "be the One" is the chapter-ending insights provided by Berger and Demangone titled: "Dan's Keys to Success" and "Anthony's Takeaways". These summaries frequently tie general business concepts directly back to everyday, credit union practicalities; and Anthony, in particular, doesn't let theory get too far ahead of reality.

Which is good
for a change!

Read it all... this one's better than diapers!!

Several folks have asked where to obtain a copy of the book. It's temporarily "sold out" on Amazon, but should be back in stock shortly!

Price is $14.95...

"Eat that frog" is a "BHAG" !!!!

Many of you asked, D&A's book is available on Amazon for $14.99 + shipping....

Would add it's almost a "Cliff Notes" -type synopsis/guide of management practices and principles.

Might want to "cram for the exam" you confront everyday in your CU work with a quick read - stay up all night if you have to!!!

In this regulatory environment, the grading system has become solely two-tiered....PASS/FAIL !!!!!
