Freedom Of Information Act....

The following Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was filed with NCUA yesterday:

NCUA Consistency Conference
"Would you please provide the total budgeted cost by NCUA for the  "Examiner Training Conference" held in Orlando, Florida during April, 2012? I assume that the estimate provided will include all: 1) conference planning, preparation, facilities, speakers, and management costs; 2) lodging costs; 3) food, beverage, and entertainment costs; 4) per diem costs; 5) travel costs; and 6) all related miscellaneous materials, gifts, allowances, and related discount offerings.  It would be very helpful if you would specifically detail each expenditure category by budgetary line item.  Would you also please provide a copy of the Conference agenda, schedule of events, and itinerary instructions to participants?  Thank you."
"XOXOXOXOXO"!!!!

      Sincerely,

      Tough Love

.....will share NCUA's response with you!

* Requesting information from a government agency like NCUA is one of your basic rights as a citizen under the Freedom of Information Act. Filing a request is a simple process see  (www.ncua.gov) and just search for FOIA.  Responses are generally promised within 20 days.  It's your government, it's your money; it's your right to know!

Ask, ask often!!

Awesome! Can't wait for the response. Although we already know the answer to how much they spent is "too much!!"

Reckon it will take 'em 20 days "to produce" a budget?

Did you see where Mr. Marquis announced the networking reception would be cancelled with no free food or drinks, in an effort to keep costs down? Wonder if that's in response to the aforementioned budget request?...

Can't imagine going to a reception with 600 hungry, sober examiners, can you.. "How's business? Heard any good DOR's lately?"

Guess one should file an FOIA requesting the dollar amount saved by cancelling the reception...since it was a major strategic decision made at the highest levels!
