Q: Have you heard the one about: "Consistency training for NCUA examiners?" (CUTimes - 4/13/12)
A: No, that's definitely needed; why is that so funny?
Q: Guess who's doing the training?

Jim...What a waste of our credit union money. Two weeks in Orlando! Is the NCUA nuts during what has happened the last few years. I don't care how they want to spin the story there has been nothin but waste coming from that agency. Someone should investigate this conference, how much on speakers, planners, receptions? We need credit unions to start demanding more accountability this is the worst leadership I have seen. I say let's start emailing the Administration and letting them know what's going on. Better yet let's tip off a real reporter to investigate.
Suspect the CU news sharks have already spotted "the blood in the water" on this one...this probably will be an embarrassing "feeding frenzy" for all of the CU movement. "Exquisite timing" wouldn't you say! Just hope it doesn't go viral like the GSA Las Vegas "meeting"....this isn't going to be "pretty"....
'Course, it's not too late to switch the venue to Lehigh Acres .... plenty of "free housing" there ....
I think the Credit Union Times story was a soft ball throw...I would like to know how much the entire conference will cost us. It might not be as extreme as the GSA story but it's still government waste.
If NCUA were smart, they would be "listening" and would simply publish the total cost ... would be better than a "we have no idea" or a "no comment, it's protected by FOIA"....
Listening the NCUA is not listening and that tour is just another gimmick of the Chairman's office trying to get us to not question how things are being run.

...but they are a bit "beknighted" of late...

Time to convert to FDIC Insurance. Why sit around and complain? Do something before it is to late.
Many CUs would prefer the FDIC, an insurer that is perceived as tougher but also fairer, more astute - most CU's would welcome all 3!
Can only get there though through a charter conversion, federal legislative change, or....(stay tuned!)
