Something Doesn't Add Up....

"A little going away present..."

The buzz claims that the recent  CUTimes (2/6/2015)
"DutyStation/Travelgate" exposé was an "inside job" - an attempted set up by "the usual suspects" hoping to discredit the "R-wing" of the NCUA Board - particularly past Chair Mike Fryzel.

Yet another Soap Opera
on Duke Street...?
After reading the blurb and sifting through "the dirt", think most folks would say "much ado about nothing", pretty petty, and doesn't the Agency have a few other issues of more import?  Like rebuilding its credibility and  reestablishing public confidence?

Lastly, much like the initial risk-weights in NCUA's RBC fiasco, somehow "the numbers just don't add up" - at least not to scandal.  Unless you look at them this way...

Cute, but no
banana!
"SUSPECT" ANNUAL TRAVEL COSTS:**

1)  Chair Matz               $  29,000
2)  Mr. Fryzel                $  25,000
3)  Mr. Metsger             $  40,000

      Grand Total:          $  94,000

Spent while
"on vacation"?
"FISCALLY SUSPECT" LEGAL OPINIONS

1) Chair Matz                 $  150,000
2)  Mr. Metsger              $      -0-
3)  Mr. McWatters          $      -0-

         Grand Total:          $  150,000

**  Could we get a legal opinion on "Travelgate" now from NCUA's General Counsel?
Or do we have to wait for a vacation?

Thank God Fryzel was Chairman in 2008 when we needed someone who knew how to lead.

Chairman Pettie Matz!

Fryzel may have provided decent guidance for the industry, but that was his task.

Because most of his expenses were to Chicago, he deserves to be called on it. He looks like any other political hack gaming the system.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising to see how "strategic" the Hawaii Credit Union League is to NCUA board members.

Why is Fryzel maybe visiting Chicago a time or two extra such a big issue? Metsger seems to like Oregon pretty often too.

If M&M expenses are solid at $25/30K, aren't we arguing about at most $10K, when the Queen blew $150k on vacation?

Could we focus on the $MILLIONS wasted on RBC. Or is the Queen running a red herring across our path to distract us from the real issue?

Nothing against Chicago or Oregon, but I'd rather go to Hawaii too.

Is this some type of IQ test?

Consider this: The Queen was a NCUA board member. At the end of her term she went to work for Andrews FCU and tried to torpedo the CEO to get his job. Fortunately the CU board saw the madness of her ways and tanked her instead. But fear not. The queen is married to Marshall the Magnificent a heavy donor to the campaigns of influential democrats. So then when Obama gets elected Marshall begs the party bosses to please get her out of the house and as such political hackatree works its ways and the queen becomes a chairman. Thank you Marshall, thank you Barrack for nothing.

Think it will ever dawn on Ms. Matz that she has the highest operating budget in NCUA history while the # of CUs is at a 40 year low?

To be fair would note that being good at math and budgets is not necessarily a prerequisite for being successful in politics.

Has any one calculated the amazing expense to the credit union system for RBC 1 and 2. RBC 1 had a no listening campaign that cost the credit union member more than the travel junkets of the NCUA board. The potential expense and lost opportunity income to credit union as a result the misguided regulations that NCUA promulgates and make the travel expense look minor. Agreed it is wrong, but minor.

Credit unions are gagging on ants and swallowing elephants!

Jim! Ethics should be a prerequisite for politics.
