In order for you to prepare this morning blog I must speculate that one of the following occurred.
1. You did not watch the Super Bowl.
2. You listened to it on the radio. And I know you still have one of those.
3. You were snowed in without power and drinking magical tea.
4. You finally finished reading RBC 2 and needed to vent.
5. Your wife asked you to fix something and you said you had an idea and needed to put pen to paper.
Whatever the reason you outdid yourself. It is hard to believe that anyone could have topped what you did. But alas, NCUA did.
A new posting has gone up. NCUA is seeking to hire another attorney. Pray tell the reason? Some speculate it is a rules writing specialist. Others says it is to prepare lists of attorneys for the Chairman to call and discuss issues with while on vacation. One theory is the Administration wants a further reduction in unemployment and has ordered all federal agencies to hire more people. And some believe it is to have a full time drafter of responses to the McWatters' Papers that keep rolling out.
There is however a rumor that the new hire is a ruse and that NCUA intends to eliminate its entire staff of attorneys and outsource its legal work. The thought being that the majority of the heavy lifting is already being done by outside counsel.
And considering we already have one licensed attorney on the board and two rogue attorneys, it is safe to same we are pretty lawyered up.
