"Such A Negative Attitude..."

Congressman David Scott is in his seventh term as the democratic representative of the citizens of the 13th District in Georgia.

Representative Scott has served the people of Georgia since 1974, previously as both a State representative and State senator - over 40 years of distinguished, accountable public service. Mr. Scott also has had a successful career in broadcasting and is an MBA graduate of Wharton - with honors.

Ms. Debbie Matz is the Chair of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) a perennial, political appointee, never elected.

Here is their recent Congressional dialogue on credit unions:
(it's worse "live", here's the link start at 32:15 !)

SCOTT:  "So it's safe to say that credit union members themselves bear the total costs of the agency's operations and expenses?"

MATZ:  "That's correct."

SCOTT:  "OK let me ask you this. Do you hold public hearings for your budget?"

MATZ:  "No."

SCOTT:  "Do you think that that is a very good way of holding yourself accountable to these stakeholders?  Do you think it could be improved if you did have public hearings where the people who are paying the freight would have an opportunity to interact with you, and you have an opportunity to satisfy any concerns they may have about your budget, which they are paying for?"

MATZ:  "Yes, but it's not their money, we fee the credit unions, but it's the members who own the credit union and it's the members' funds. And if we don't have adequate resources we can't protect those funds."

Oh really !!!
SCOTT:  "OK. Well, the members are the credit unions and the credit unions are the the members."

MATZ:  "No that's not true."

SCOTT:  "And the members come from them."

MATZ:  "I disagree with that."

SCOTT:  "What do you disagree with?"

MATZ:  "I don't believe the credit unions necessarily represent the members.  And, if they did, they wouldn't be asking us to cut our budget, because I think the members would like us to protect their life savings and would like us to have the resources we need to do that adequately."

SCOTT:  "That's why I think it would help you and help with the transparency if you did have hearings.  The directorate is clear.  I mean I don't see how you could have such a negative attitude towards the very people who, through their fees, are paying your salaries, your operating expenses."

If Ms. Matz say this publicly...
Wonder what NCUA tells Congress
in private about Credit Unions?

"I mean, I don't see how you could have such a negative attitude towards the very people who, through their fees, are paying your salaries, your operating expenses."

- Congressman David Scott
 ... before Congress - 7/23/2015

[Thank you, Mr. Congressman, for "speaking truth to insolence"!]

And yet the Queen remains adamant. No hearings,my way or the highway and Congress can go talk to the devil. Perhaps she believes she represents the credit union members. As if she has talked to so many. And how dare anyone, even the elected officials of not only the credit union members but all the citizens of the U.S., question her about the NCUA budget. Someone needs to remind the rogue Chairman that her day is coming.

The definition of a tax is a forced extraction. Try not to pay the NCUA FEE! Ms. Matz is using fee as a euphemism for a tax. We fought a revolution concerning taxation without representation.

Time to revolt!
