Ain't that the truth! Kicking the can down the road is not how to create, plan, execute and lead. What frustrates us credit unions the most is CUNA's inability to focus and then communicate that focus. Like them or hate them, look at the CEOs of CUNA Mutual Group, NAFCU and NASCUS. The leadership of each of those organizations are doing a wonderful job. They plan, implement and communicate... and lead!
Who says CUNA can't lead? They are the best at leading their herd of league presidents, credit union executives, supporters and followers and even the regulators to the best vacation spots in the world all at the expense of credit union members who they claim they do so much for. Hypocrisy at it best.
Jim- Look at Diana Dykstra's paycheck (IRS Form 990 -2013) $633,245 is the 1099 PLUS $18,380 in 'other comp.' Does anyone think for a split second Dykstra is going to put any of that at risk by giving an opt-out choice to the dues paying credit union community? When pigs fly! Heck, they just increased the CCUL dues structure to support her life style. Dykstra has to kick this CUNA-CAN down the road a couple of more years before her SERP kicks in. Remember the $6M SERP paid to WesCorpFCU CEO Bob Siravo? Dykstra served on the WesCorpFCU board of directors- the very group that voted to create the $6M SERP. And before the NCUA could place WesCorpFCU into conservatorship Siravo was, like a dog in heat, quick enough to cash it in. Dykstra has a Siravo look-alike SERP. Please don't mess with her SERP. The pigs at the trough are all getting greased and the constituent sheep are getting fleeced. Are you so naive that you can't recognize greed for what it is? Greed - when more is not enough. Even for Dykstra at the end of the week it is just a damn paycheck. Dykstra is the best advocate for her paycheck. After that there is not much else left to advocate.
